The Bear Point Civic Association will celebrate Independence Day weekend with a big cookout, auction, raffle, bake sale, and children’s beauty contest on Saturday, July 3, 2010 at the BPCA park, 5681 Bay La Launch Avenue. Activities will begin at 11 a.m. with admission free to the public. There will be music in the park, and attendees will have the opportunity to buy hamburger, hot dog or sausage dog plates, baked goods, tickets to win bicycles and other prizes, and to bid on items in the auction. The beauty contest for children to age 16 will begin at 12 noon with trophies for both boys and girls in several age groups. Mss Bear Point will be chosen from the 13 to 16 age group. Registration for the beauty contest is $5 and begins promptly at 11:45 a.m. The live auction will begin at 1:30 p.m. Everyone is invited to come and join in the fun!
